Brisbane: The
first Test of the return leg of Ashes ended in huge disappointment for
touring England, as the hosts, hell- bent on ending their 9-match
winless streak, conjured up an inspired performance to hand a 381-run
thrashing to the Alastair Cook-led side.
The match, for all its cricket and beyond, was a highly anticipated one as the notorious Australian crowd was keen to play its part as well. They jeered the Englishmen relentlessly; a certain Stuart Broad being the obvious target. Kevin Pietersen, playing his 100th Test match was on radar too.
