South African Batsman Faf Du Plessis Accuses Australia Of Ball-Tampering During Third Test At Newlands, Cape Town

Daily Sports News
After being accused of ball tampering in the second Test –that they won- against Australia in Port Elizabeth, South Africa returned the favour to Michael Clarke’s side, with Proteas’ Faf du Plessis reportedly claiming something was amiss about the ball reversing  as early as the 27th over on the third day of the decisive third Test at Newlands.

Plessis’ allegations stem from Aussie pacer Ryan Harris’ pronounced reverse swing that he began getting from the 27th over of the day. Harris accounted for Hashim Amla in the 29th over near the end of the extended first session.

According to News.com.au, Du Plessis said something was fishy about the ball reversing so early as Australia gained the upper hand in the decisive Test match, with a 234-run lead at stumps with a full complement of second innings wickets.

It was Pakistan's first one-wicket win over India since April 18, 1986.

Asia Cup: India Score 264/9 In 50 Overs Against Sri Lanka, Mendis Claims 4 Wickets, Shikhar Dhawan Scores 94

In a clinical display of bowling, Sri Lanka restricted India to 264/9 in 50 overs in the ongoing Asia Cup tie here on Friday. Angelo Mathews shuffled his bowlers well after he won the toss and put India in on a low and slow track. Barring Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli, none of the Indian batsmen could find answers to the discipline of Sachithra Senanayake and the guile of Ajantha Mendis.

Senanayake claimed three wickets at the cost of 41 runs off his 10 overs, while Mendis, despite conceding 60, had Indians in all sorts of trouble. He got Kohli off an absolute ripper, and later accounted for Shikhar Dhawan (94 runs, 114 balls, 7X4, 1X6) with a carom ball.

In the end, it took two lusty blows from Mohammed Shami to push India to 264
