Top India shuttlers Parupalli Kashyap and Saina Nehwal have been named captains of the men’s and women`s national teams respectively for the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals starting here on Sunday.
In Thomas Cup, India have been clubbed with Malaysia, South Korea
and Germany, while in Uber Cup India will face Thailand, Canada and Hong
Kong during the event, to be held at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here
from May 18 to 25.
"I would like to announce that Kashyap will captain the Thomas Cup team and Saina
will be captaining the Uber Cup side," Badminton Association of India
(BAI) president Akhilesh Das Gupta said during the launch of the
prestigious event here today.
