Part of Indian Premier League 7 may be shifted abroad due to 2014 Lok Sabha polls

New Delhi: 2014 Lok Sabha elections may result in division of the seventh edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) in two parts, one in Indian and the other half abroad, said reports.A BCCI official was quoted by Times of India as saying: "Keeping security concerns in mind, IPL may be hosted in two parts. But it is not yet decided which part will be played in the country. A final decision will be taken only after the election dates are announced."

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held in April-May 2014. Despite it being unclear which country will get the other part, South Africa and Sri Lanka seem to be the top contenders, say reports.Read more
