Mel‘burn’ heat takes its toll on Australian Open; play suspended for the day

Melbourne: Searing heat took its toll on the ongoing Australian Open here on Thursday, with tournament referee Wayne McEwen suspending the day’s action deeming conditions unsafe for players.
