In PICS: Here’S How Pakistan's Shahid Afridi Sent Bangladesh, India Packing In 43 Balls!

Daily Sports News

In a murderous display of power hitting, Shahid Afridi stunned Bangladesh with a 18-ball 50, and guided Pakistan to their fourth Asia Cup final here on Tuesday. Such was the ferocity of Afridi’s brutal batting that a total of 326 was overhauled with three wickets and one ball to spare. Afridi’s 25-ball 59 included 2 fours and 7 towering sixes, and the 34-year old reached his fifty off just 18 balls, becoming the only batsman in world cricket to achieve the feat thrice.

Prior to this, Afridi had blasted his way to a 37-ball ton in his debut ODI innings against Sri Lanka at Nairobi, in the course of which, he had scored a 18-ball 50. Later, on September 21, 2002, he repeated the feat against Netherlands in Colombo. He had scored 55 unbeaten runs off 18 balls and blasted 6 fours and 4 sixes.
