Almost 28 years ago, when
Javed Miandad dented India’s ego and consciousness with that six off
Chetan Sharma, the assault haunted an entire generation until Sachin Tendulkar
took it upon himself to redeem things in Centurion. On March 2, 2014, a
day after the 11th anniversary of Sachin’s now famous upper-cut,
Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi alias boom Boom Afridi parked a
couple of skiers in a delirious Mirpur crowd to lend another lasting
blow to India, one that shall be lauded and loathed by Indians in equal
measure.
It was Pakistan's first one-wicket win over India since April 18, 1986.
