Bolstered by a rare praiseworthy bowling effort and buttressed by customary heroics with bat, India defeated traditional foes Pakistan by 7 wickets in the Super 10 opener here on Friday, in the process, maintaining their all-win record against their neighbours in World Cups.
Chasing a target of 131, India got off to a nervous start. However, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma did well to put up 54 runs for the first wicket. Later, Suresh Rain and Virat Kohli combined for a 66-run partnership to bring India home. Earlier, Amit Mishra led the way for India, who restricted Pak to just 130 off their allotted 20 overs.
