In a clinical display of bowling, Sri Lanka restricted India to 264/9 in 50 overs in the ongoing Asia Cup
tie here on Friday. Angelo Mathews shuffled his bowlers well after he
won the toss and put India in on a low and slow track. Barring Shikhar
Dhawan and Virat Kohli, none of the Indian batsmen could find answers to the discipline of Sachithra Senanayake and the guile of Ajantha Mendis.
Senanayake claimed three wickets at the cost of 41 runs off his 10
overs, while Mendis, despite conceding 60, had Indians in all sorts of
trouble. He got Kohli off an absolute ripper, and later accounted for
Shikhar Dhawan (94 runs, 114 balls, 7X4, 1X6) with a carom ball.
In the end, it took two lusty blows from Mohammed Shami to push India to 264
