The first lady of Indian cricket team is expecting her first child with skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Mahi and Sakshi, wedded for close to four years, broke the news through a media release in wee hours of Monday.
“It gives us enormous joy to inform you that Mr. and Mrs. Mahendra Singh Dhoni are expecting their first child. The couple is obviously elated, but would request restraint and privacy,” the release read.
While Dhoni, who is currently leading India in World T20
in Bangladesh, could not be reached for his comments, a source close to
the Indian skipper confirmed the news. “Yes, Dhonis are expecting. The
news couldn’t have come at a better time for him in light of his name
being dragged in various controversies,” the source said, referring to
Dhoni’s alleged complicity in IPL fixing scandal.
