The Supreme Court on Friday
refused to hand over transcripts of the statements given by former Board
president N Srinivasan, Indian skipper M S Dhoni and Indian Premier League (IPL)
Chief Operating Officer Sunder Raman to Board of Control for Cricket in
India (BCCI), two days after cricket’s governing body in country had
filed a petition in the apex court for the same.
The tapes carry recorded statements that the trio gave to
SC-appointed Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee to probe IPL betting and
fixing scandal that erupted during the previous edition of the cash-
rich league.
The two-judge bench of Justice A.K. Patnaik and Justice J.S. Khehar
told the BCCI lawyers that they will examine if handing over the
transcripts is required when the IPL scam case comes up for hearing
again on April 16.
